When is the best time to view the night sky?

For the full Milky Way experience then the best time is around new moon durring the summer. Around full moon some of the fainter stars will be hard to see so this is a good time if you want to learn the star patterns of the main constellations. Remember from May to the end of July it won’t get truly dark until after midnight.

What happens if it’s cloudy or we have bad weather?

If a decision is made to cancel a booking due to bad weather, then you have a choice to either make a booking for a later date or cancel the booking.

When will I be charged for the experience?

At the end of the evening you will be presented with an invoice for the whole party. Payment can be made by cash, card or BACS.

What haapens if the experience is cancelled after Cambrian Stargazing arrives at the venue?

If the venue is less than 20 miles from SY23 4QY then there will be no charge. Any mileage over 20 miles from SY23 4QY there will be a charge of 45p per mile.

What happens if it clouds over during an experience?

If after 45min the session is cancelled due to bad weather, then there will be a 50% charge of the total cost of the experience.

Is your location suitable for observing?

Although I have extensive knowledge of Mid Wales your immediate local conditions could impact the experience.

On making a booking I will discuss your location with you and may make alternative suggestions to ensure the best experience for you.

What to expect and equipment to bring.

Below is a list of equipment you should consider bringing to a stargazing experience.

Even in the summer it can get very cold especially if standing around so keeping warm is essential to enjoy the experience.

Warm clothes.

Boots.

Hat and Gloves.

Hot drinks and food.

Midge repellent during the summer.

Deck chair.

Red head torch, if you have one.
